Welcome to the Zhang Hybrid Quantum Systems Lab!
We are a new experimental group working in quantum information science. We combine superconducting circuits, nanomechanics, and quantum defects to explore and engineer quantum systems for sensing and information processing.

Across platforms, down to mechanisms

Our group works at the boundary of physics, electrical engineering, and materials science. We connect device design, nanofabrication, low-temperature measurement, and microscopic materials characterization to understand—and ultimately engineer—the limits of quantum coherence.

Our collaborative work on a diamond defect with millisecond-scale spin relaxation was published in Physical Review B as an Editors' Suggestion and featured in Physics.

Our invited review, "Point defects in semiconductors: Friends and foes for quantum technologies," has been published in MRS Bulletin.

Zihuai accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Physics at Colorado School of Mines and will join in mid-August.
